Cairn Athletics Culture

Over the past couple of years, the culture of Cairn University Athletics has changed in better, winning ways.  The Men’s soccer team led by fourth-year Head Coach Luke Gibson was one game away from qualifying for the Colonial States Athletic Conference Playoffs in the 2015-2016 season. Men’s Basketball had their best season statistically, compiling a 10-15 record which included wins over Immaculata and Rosemont to cap off the stellar campaign.  Baseball garnered the highest win total they have had since the inception of the program, totaling 20 wins. Last but not least, Cross Country has dominated the CSAC schedule, winning the CSAC championship three years in a row.

Now, these are exciting times for Highlander fans everywhere as they have seen a true resurgence in Highlander Athletics over the past few years.  My advice to Highlander fans across campus is simple: come out, and don’t take these years of success within Cairn University Athletics for granted.  Get out of your dorm or apartment and pack the gym or playing field.  Even if you are not athletic, cheering on your fellow classmates in whatever sport they may participate in is customary at most schools, and should be at Cairn University as well.

There is a true benefit of going to a small, division III school located in Bucks County.  The tight-knit group that calls themselves the “Cairn Crazies” is always looking for people to join in and help them cheer on their favorite Highlander teams.  So the next time you’re contemplating whether to watch the next episode of “Bob’s Burgers” or attend a Highlander athletic event, I sincerely hope you will choose the latter.
