Cairn Enactus would like to provide you with an update on our Solar Energy project – we are working to establish a source of clean energy here on campus.  As of now, we are directing our attention to grant writing to secure the funds necessary for this project.  The MAC appears to be the best site for the solar panels and the weight-bearing capacity of the roof has been analyzed and confirmed by Professional Engineer, Mitchell Weaver, of Eagle Consulting.  Although we are still in the early stage of planning, we hope to gain approval to move forward with this project, which will help the environment by lowering our energy use.  We are also working to provide solar panels to a new school outside of Lima, Peru so that they too can take advantage of an efficient, sustainable source of electricity!
