The winter’s fury barely passed me by
Light-touched by frost fast-creeping deep within
Behold the ice sharp hatred in his eyes
My legs outrun the wild beasts that grin
The ghosts that prowl this harsh avoided lake
Do scoff and coldly swirl about my head
Great gasps of air my lungs can’t help but take
The shades call up to me to count their dead
In the darkness violence seems to rise
A different blush of anger than before
The tempest of my temper I despise
Could someone save my hands from blood and gore?

Surely, I can shun these earthly fears
Perhaps among the gloom, a light appears
