World Feast

Many Americans enjoy so-called “ethnic” food, which has typically been highly Americanized. Very rarely do Americans get to taste food that is truly from another country, in all its authenticity. Cairn University gets a rare opportunity to showcase authentic food from around the world, allowing students to have this chance every year during World Reach Week.

Like last year, this year’s World Feast will be brought to you by the Student Missionary Fellowship, with additional support from Mu Kappa. Food will be provided by students, faculty, short-term team members, and individuals from other countries.

Students and faculty will represent different countries by hosting tables of food. Everyone is welcome to come and sample cuisine from several countries including Egypt, Albania, Korea, and more. SMF will provide desserts from Lebanon. These desserts include halawah, a sweet sesame paste, and knafeh, with sweet cheese, phyllo dough, and honey.

This year’s Feast will be held in Heritage this Thursday, January 30, at 7 pm. All students are welcome to mingle and enjoy the (free) food, and to participate in a variety of games. Test your knowledge of Paul’s missionary journeys, and discover how much you really know about unreached people groups! Be sure to come out and get a taste of the world at this year’s World Feast.

Anyone interested in representing a country can still sign up by contacting Annie Vincent at av362@cairn.edu.
