A Look Back: Reflecting on the Closing Sports Season
As many Cairn University sports teams finish up the season, we reflect upon the past few months of glory, tears, trials and triumphs. Cairn University rejoices with the Cross Country Men’s Team for defending their title of CSAC (Colonial States Athletic Conference) champions for the second year in a row, an honor that President Williams recognized on stage during November 6th’s chapel service. This Cross Country Men’s Team is arguably the best team that Cairn has ever had, and they are determined to continue their winning streak. Cairn U is very proud of all of the hard work that the Men and Women Cross Country Teams have shown, especially with the Cairn XC Women’s Team coming in third place for the championship. So if you see any XC members in your classes or on your way to the cafeteria, be sure to congratulate them!
Other teams worthy of recognition and congratulations on their efforts are the Men and Women Soccer Teams, who battled hard the entire season. Many players of both the Men’s team and the Women’s team earned CSAC awards, and both teams really showed us a great season!
Our Women’s Volleyball team also wraps up the season with a tough loss to the Nittany Lions but grew a lot in the process. A few of our Women’s Tennis players also earned some CSAC awards, proudly displaying how far they’ve come since the start of the season.
Finally, there is one last person that needs some extra recognition: Coach Eric Bofinger was named Cross Country Coach of the Year at CSAC, and with the Men’s Cross Country team defending their title of CSAC Champions, it just goes to show that Coach Bofinger has put a lot of time, effort and care into Cairn University’s Cross Country team.
As we look back upon the season, think about the hard work that all the sports teams and athletes have given over the past few months, and even throughout the summer and last semester. Be sure to thank them for all their hard work, congratulate them all on a great season, and encourage them throughout the rest of the semester.
